The Three Wise Women

Do know what would have happened if it had been three wise WOMEN instead of men, don’t you? They would have asked for directions, arrived on time, helped deliver the baby, cleaned the stable, made a casserole, and brought disposable diapers as gifts!

Excuse me, this post is offense to women and Christians alike. Remove it.

The only thing offensive is that you pasted it twice. 🙂

I actually thought this was pretty funny. While Johnny’s own blog is truly disturbing and I won’t be visiting it again. (That should get you a few hits, Johnny, but you don’t have to thank me).

The Archbishop of Canterbury said yesterday that the Christmas story of the Three Wise Men was nothing but a ‘legend’.

Dr Rowan Williams has claimed there was little evidence that the Magi even existed and there was certainly nothing to prove there were three of them or that they were kings.

Dr Williams argued that the traditional Christmas story was nothing but a ‘legend’. He said the only reference to the wise men from the East was in Matthew’s gospel and the details were very vague.

Dr Williams said: “Matthew’s gospel says they are astrologers, wise men, priests from somewhere outside the Roman Empire, that’s all we’re really told. It works quite well as legend.”

The three wise men did in fact exist. They were from Persia, and followed a bright object in the constellation Saggitarius (which constellation the Jews traditionally watched closely for astrological signs) which is documented to have occured during the period of the time of the birth of Christ.
